Beginning School
This is an important milestone in a child's life. It is important that both you and your child are well prepared for this step.
PRE-ENROLMENT VISITS
4 - Year Old Class
A class for four year old children has been established at St Mary's School, in response to requests from the parent community.
Our “Four Year Old Class” provides a bridge for learning, and makes an effortless and delightful transition for your child from his/her early learning provider. Our Four Year Old class is a means of developing routines and skills necessary to make your child's entry to school seamless, and children benefit from the experience of school before he/she begins.
The specific purpose of St Mary's School, is to educate your child in a place where Christian values are taught and we enjoy a sense of family. Our Four Year old class very quickly, develops an understanding of this.
Our “Four Year Old Class” provides children with a variety of fun, educational learning experiences.
This class is held in Room One and will take place every Wednesday at 2 pm until 3 pm. The class is taught by our New Entrant teacher – Ms Katie Shaw.
Weekly Visits
Weekly visits to the New Entrant class are also arranged for 6 weeks before your child's fifth birthday.
St Mary's School places a great deal of emphasis on the development of numeracy, literacy and social abilities. Your child will be taught basic skills in these areas.
Parents are welcomed and encouraged into our school. We delight in developing a home-school partnership with you.
You will be issued with a "New Entrant Pack" and shown a variety of ideas on how you can help your child's learning at home, in preparation for entry to school.
